WILL BIKE FOR DONUTS!

Let me introduce you to my biker friends!  These gentleman (and occasionally women!) ride their bikes from Oak Park to BB's to have donuts and coffee on Friday mornings.  They are so fun, and if I (Debbie, the Donut Lady) had more time, I would share a delightful story about the first time we met them. If I remember correctly, Paul (in the red) brought his friends and they have been coming almost every Friday morning since.  I look forward to serving them and talking and laughing about the things they bring to the table. I wanted to share this photo of them and thank them for their business  but mostly their friendship.  Oh and by the way, blessings to you Jim (in the green and purple) on your new life venture!

"THE BEST KIND OF DONUTS" // BB'S CHALK ART

how cute is Calleigh? (and her sisters Nora and Annie!) she stopped by the donut shop this morning and white she was waiting for her donuts, she popped outside and drew this beautiful chalk art! It reads "The best kind of donuts are the baby donuts!", and we couldn't agree more! You can come by the donut shop and see her creation for yourself, and even make a masterpiece of your own! While you're enjoying the artwork and the weather, grab some donuts for lunch! Thanks again Calleigh, Annie, and Nora!

SUMMER/ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION WITH FRANKIE ACE!

last saturday, BB's had the pleasure of celebrating our second anniversary and the beginning of summer with a little party! we hosted frankie ace, served up some delicious donuts, coffee, and lemonade, and just enjoyed the beautiful weather! our social media/resident photographer molly snapped some photos for us, and we posted our favorites below! A LITTLE HISTORY BEHIND NATIONAL DONUT DAY

here at BB's, we're all about donuts. did you know that? it's shocking, i know! but, all joking aside, we are really interested in donuts! this friday (june 3rd) is national donut day, and we wanted to give our loyal donut-loving customers some history on this strange but awesome holiday!

we'll begin our lesson around the time of the great depression and WWI, in 1938. chicago's salvation army used donuts as a way to serve those greatly affected by the depression, and would also travel overseas to serve baked goods to the troops on the front lines! the women, called "doughnut dollies", would pitch tents near army training centers and dish out donuts to the hungry soldiers, as well as "provide writing supplies and stamps, and provide a clothes-mending service" (wikipedia). they even fried the donuts by heating oil in the mens helmets! the salvation army dubbed the first friday in june "national donut day" to promote their fundraisers supporting the war, and the tradition has stuck ever since. (we're not complaining!)

don't forget that on national donut day, you can come on over to BB's, and when you order a dozen designer baby donuts, you get a half dozen original babies free! it's a deal you don't want to miss and the perfect way to remember the past! 

BB'S DONUTS FIRST EVER YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR FEST!

all of us here at bb's are so excited to announce our first ever YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR FEST! just like the poster says, our fest is about "empowering kids to learn about businesses by starting one themselves"!  we can't wait to see what types of ideas and products your kids come up with, and we can't wait to showcase their creativity! there is, in fact, limited availability, so if you're interested or if you nee more information, please contact Debbie Feiler at bbbabydonuts@yahoo.com to reserve  a spot! we encourage you to come out and support the community as well as the young, talented kids who've put all their hard work into making their own products and businesses! the store will also be open, so you can get your coffee and donut fix while browsing around outside! and if you're just coming to walk around, there's no need to RSVP, and we'll see you on June 18th!

MAPLE BACON LOVE

we've been crushin' hard on maple bacon baby donuts lately. they're a delicious mix of sweet and salty, and who doesn't love bacon!? one awesome customer ordered a maple bacon donut cake last year for his birthday, and it was such a hit, he got one this year too!

if you're looking for a bit for a bit of a smaller portion, this delicious flavor comes in a half dozen or a full dozen, for around $5 dollars! it's the perfect snack. stop by to try out a bite of maple bacon!

BILL'S LEMONADE AT BB'S!

we've brought it back from last year. that's right folks, bill's lemonade is returning to BB's! after gaining so much popularity in 2015, we had to have another year of deliciousness! did you know that each glass of our delicious drink has ONE WHOLE LEMON in it?! it's equal parts sweet and sour, and will brighten anyone's day. your first glass is $4, and if you keep your cup, we'll give you $2 refills for the rest of the spring/summer season! you don't want to miss this! take a walk by the shop, grab a few donuts from our walk-up window, and grab a freshly-squeezed, refreshing lemonade!
