INTRODUCING BB'S FLAVOR GLOSSARY!

We've got quite a few different favors here at BB's, and we wanted to create a way to highlight each and every unique flavor we offer. Thus, BB's Flavor Glossary was born! It's a fun way to give our customers and followers a guide to all the versions of donuts we can make, and also let customers share their favorite favors with us! Every few days, we'll pick a new flavor and give it some love, as well as repost some of our customer's submissions! Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and the hashtag #BBsFlavorGlossary for more.

SUMMER/ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION WITH FRANKIE ACE!

last saturday, BB's had the pleasure of celebrating our second anniversary and the beginning of summer with a little party! we hosted frankie ace, served up some delicious donuts, coffee, and lemonade, and just enjoyed the beautiful weather! our social media/resident photographer molly snapped some photos for us, and we posted our favorites below! A LITTLE HISTORY BEHIND NATIONAL DONUT DAY

here at BB's, we're all about donuts. did you know that? it's shocking, i know! but, all joking aside, we are really interested in donuts! this friday (june 3rd) is national donut day, and we wanted to give our loyal donut-loving customers some history on this strange but awesome holiday!

we'll begin our lesson around the time of the great depression and WWI, in 1938. chicago's salvation army used donuts as a way to serve those greatly affected by the depression, and would also travel overseas to serve baked goods to the troops on the front lines! the women, called "doughnut dollies", would pitch tents near army training centers and dish out donuts to the hungry soldiers, as well as "provide writing supplies and stamps, and provide a clothes-mending service" (wikipedia). they even fried the donuts by heating oil in the mens helmets! the salvation army dubbed the first friday in june "national donut day" to promote their fundraisers supporting the war, and the tradition has stuck ever since. (we're not complaining!)

don't forget that on national donut day, you can come on over to BB's, and when you order a dozen designer baby donuts, you get a half dozen original babies free! it's a deal you don't want to miss and the perfect way to remember the past!

have you stopped into the shop lately? we've recently gotten a new addition, our piano! it's open to everyone and anyone, and we'd love to hear YOUR song! we've had some friends come and played a few beautiful tunes, just like elise and marisa below. if you know a piano prodigy, a musical novice, or someone who plays just for fun, we'd love to have them! come on down to BB's, snack on some warm donuts, and enjoy some gorgeous music. you might even make it on to our Facebook page! we can't wait to hear what you have to share. 

BB'S DONUTS IS HIRING!

yep! you read that right! BB's is looking for a little extra help around the store. we want someone who enjoys face-to-face communication, public service, and who has a positive and happy attitude to join our team! there are a few specific positions open, and we want to know your special skills! specifically, we'd like someone during the week, about 2 or 3 days in the morning to open up the shop! we'd also like some weekend help as well. if you're interested, we'd love to have you! stop in the store to pick up an application, contact Debbie Feiler at 708 246 1212, or email her at bbbabydonuts@yahoo.com. we can't wait to meet you!

BB'S WALK-UP WONDERLAND!

have you heard? this year, BB's is celebrating christmas in a whole new way! introducing BB's Walk-Up Wonderland! we're counting down the days by celebrating the joys of the holidays every friday until christmas - we'll be selling donuts, coffee, + hot chocolate through our walk-up window, as well as hosting live music and special guests each night. we've already had our first, and it was a HUGE success! thanks to everyone that came out to celebrate the holidays with us! 

our next event is THIS FRIDAY! bundle up in your warmest gear and head to BB's! starting at 5:30 and lasting until 8, we'll be selling donuts, sipping warm drinks, singing along to carols, and sharing our wish lists with Santa and Mrs. Claus. that's right! for this friday only (12/11), the amazing violinists from WSSYE will be celebrating with us by providing some lovely tunes, and we're so excited! we hope you'll join us, we can't wait to see you there!

BB's donuts was founded in by Debbie Feiler. She had owned a small designer baby boutique on Lawn Ave, in Western Springs, IL. After going on several buying trips for the boutique and snacking on these little donuts they would serve right outside of where she stayed, she got the idea for BB's. After lots of handwork, Debbie and her family opened up shop right next door to Beautiful Beginnings! Starting with just a walk-up window, the mini donut shop flourished, and eventually lead to Debbie expanding the shop into a walk in cafe, complete with all the donut smells you'll ever need.  BB's is growing fast and we can't thank you enough for all the support! Keep on sharing the love!
